Hollow Coves are a dynamic indie-folk duo of Matt Carins and Ryan Henderson, who are brimming with their passion for travel and observing different shades of the world. "On The Way" is inspired by some of the band's conversations with talented and creative friends whose dreams haven't been pursued because of self doubt that they could succeed. It also is reminiscent of the band's own beginnings. The band adds - "Unfortunately, I think this is something that a lot of creatives struggle with. Then one day shortly after these conversations, I was sitting with my guitar and was starting to play around with some chords and melodies and, without thinking, one of the first lines I sang was “I’ll find my feet on the way”. This line reminded me of the importance of just taking a step towards something, even when the path is unclear, and just trusting that every time you take another step the next one will become more clear. This has been the case for us at least. When we first started out with music we had no idea what we were doing. Matt had just completed a Carpentry Apprenticeship and I had just finished a Civil Engineering degree. We both loved music and had written a few songs together. Matt knew a guy who had been doing a bit of recording in his parents garage. So we decided to go and record the songs with him. When the songs were finished we put the songs on the internet and somehow one of the songs (The Woods) went viral and started gaining a lot of streams. In that moment, we made the decision to try to give music a chance. It was a step into something completely unknown for us. We still don’t really know what we’re doing. And we’re still finding our feet on the way. But I’m so glad that we took the step, and every step after. I think this song was written somewhat retrospectively about our experiences but also looking forward as a reminder to take risks and challenge ourselves. I hope this song will encourage people that you don’t need to have it all together to pursue your dreams. You just have to start taking steps and you’ll find your feet on the way."
