Jefferson Placido is a jazz pianist who stands for the ghetto, a place in which music is essentially a resistance against the hegemonic speech. His style subverts the already stablished symbolic rules and our way of understanding and representing, deep inside it reveals to the public the inconsistency of the systems where we are inserted, also questioning logics of being and doing. Jefferson is a musician who opposes to a preestablished logic. He has played with different musicians from Rio. We can feel emotion in each instrument because it is the feeling that matters to Jefferson. The musician understands that today liquid postmodern music is present in “ghetto classic music” such as rap, jazz and samba.
