I created this EP as a bit of a nostalgic reminder of keeping up with friends as we get older," says MOZAMBIQUE about his new EP. "This is something I struggle with, trying to find the balance between putting energy into relationships to keep them alive and focusing on myself. I've also realized that drifting from friends is a natural and unavoidable occurrence. As we flourish and grow into our own selves, that requires us to decide what certain friendships really mean to us. I guess this all just spiraled on itself with a year like 2020 and I could feel a bit of a theme of communication (or lack thereof). In my own way, this project is a way for others to better understand themselves. A way to help them contemplate what language cannot say, how nefarious our emotions can be, and how an 'escape' - whether it be nature or listening to music - can start to correct our imbalances and help us express the best of our own humanity.
