There's an ease to the music Riley Pearce makes. That's testament to how effortlessly he became a songwriter. Watching his dad in cover bands inspired him to pick up the guitar. By 17, he was busking at local farmer's markets—playing covers but sneaking in a few original folky compositions about what he saw around him or the relationships he had formed. Speaking about his song "Indefinitely”, Riley says, "Friendships change as we get older and jump in and out of our own life’s chapters. It’s unavoidable at times albeit my natural intention to push against that tide but knowing that it might not be a path change forever but just for now is where this song lives. I love writing songs that could just as easily be a song between lovers as it could between friends or even a concept that’s been put in human form. It really helps me when I’m writing and opens up a whole world of language I find. I wanted this song to feel as though you’re chasing after someone in the airport trying to reach them before they board their flight… perhaps making it, perhaps missing it but realizing there may be this unknown time in the future when the paths will cross again."
