HotLap may be a name that’s new to many of us, but the newly-formed duo’s constituent members — Chris and Joris — are certainly no strangers to the world of electronic music. Having worked together on Vintage Culture & Goodboys’ hit record This Feeling back in April, the pair have also enjoyed considerable individual success across various solo endeavours over the past few years. The co-producer on Meduza’s huge new single Bad Memories Chris has also co-written and produced songs for some of the biggest names in dance music, including Felix Jaehn, Alok, Steve Aoki, Mistajam, Hayden James, PS1 and Ofenbach to name a few. While Joris, on the other hand, has written and produced for the likes of Goodboys, Ella Henderson, Daniel Blume, Cheat Codes and DVBBS. Now, as they each look to capitalise on this recent run of impressive studio output, the two musical masterminds come together to release their debut single under the HotLap moniker, with HighLife. Teaming up with burgeoning vocal outfit YOU — who have shot to early fame off the back of collaborations with Armin van Buuren, Galantis, Navos and Sonny Fodera — the result is an emotive, sun-drenched anthem that’ll live long in the memory.
