Los Angeles based meija expertly marries indie pop with alt grooves, never steering away from a big hook. The nom de plume of writer/producer Jamie Sierota, the name meija is an anagram of the letters in his first name. Previous to releasing music under this moniker, he toured the world with his siblings in the band Echosmith. Since then, meija’s collaborated with the likes of JAWNY, Hand Habits and Charly Bliss. He released his first full length album as a solo artist, titled Do Ya?, in 2023. His music explores analog and live recording, and taps into nostalgia while creating a sound that’s nuanced, layered and complex. HEAVEN is about discovering what brings you joy and hanging onto it. “What good is heaven if it doesn’t feel right,” says Sierota. “I’ve been in situations where it feels like all my dreams are coming true on paper but feel miserable on the inside. Hold tight to the things that actually bring you joy.”
