Cellos for Trees is an exciting global cello project spearheaded by Irish cellist Clíodhna Ní Aodáin. A call to action to plant 10,000 trees, Clíodhna’s goal is to generate funds to plant 5000 trees in Ireland and 5000 trees globally as part of key impact reforestation projects. Cellists from all over the world were invited to participate in creating a music video, playing a composition by Clíodhna called Full Circle – Cellos for Trees. 200 cellists from Alaska to New Zealand answered the call, including many well-known professional cellists such as Eugene Friesen, Natalie Haas, John Hanifin and Eric Wright. The project embraced cellists of all skill levels, enabling them to select a part to perform and record themselves playing beneath their favorite trees. This creative collaboration resulted in a virtual forest of cellos and trees, forming a breathtaking sight. Symbolizing the growth of a musical tree, "Full Circle – Cellos for Trees – The Forest" represents the journey from seed to roots, from trunk to crown. As the composition unfolds, listeners experience the musical depiction of a tree's growth. The poignant melodies ascend, while the compelling groove sinks deeper into the ground, providing a firm foundation to support the tree's grandeur. Clíodhna Ní Aodáin, musician, artist and advocate of environmental regeneration, believes that music and art can move people to take action where endless political speeches have failed. “Trees gave us the possibility to create cellos. Now it’s time to give back and plant trees!” “Cellos for Trees is an awesome way for us to reconnect to nature while supporting both culture and sustainability.” Website: www.thecelticcello.com/cellosfortrees Press: www.quitegreat.co.uk
