Forever After is the next Woodes quest, leading you home. It's the idea that even after years of change or loss - love is forever. You can’t erase it, it is always a part of you. I wrote this song in Brisbane early 2022, I was sitting within my personal experience over the last couple of years. I’d given a lot of myself to a relationship that wasn’t working, and I’d lost myself a bit along the way. A big part of my identity has always been tied to being an artist. It was hard to navigate the right way forward. When I went to work with Danny the songs poured out, all of the processing, the thinking, it was a safe space to let it all go. Lyrically it formed almost immediately. I wrote Forever After about love, loss, moving on, grieving - you can’t erase the love or the feelings, they’re a part of you forever. Those are the stories that make us, those are the hard experiences that give us perspective. I’ve found it really inspiring & human watching people reunite - to come together after a difficult experience.
