„Fizzy Far Niente“ - what the heck??? Yes, there were other working titles to describe this daring musical mixture, but nothing made us giggle like the funny sounding combination of a “Dolce Far Niente” garnished with some “Fizzy” champagne bubbles. So – here is TAPE FIVE with the ninth album in their own “Fizzy”, but “Far Niente” blend of Swing, ElectroSwing, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Funk, Dub and Americana. They say an album is a more intimate playground to show colors, moods, notes or breaks that got lost in the single releases. But hey, I think these are exactly the things that make music individual! I myself like different versions of a song – same content, but like played in a different mood or by different musicians. Or with the intention to change something. Even great classical composers updated or rewrote their creations throughout their life. Obviously natural to hear with different ears at another position in the universal timeline… All in all, singers from UK, Italy, Cuba, Russia and Germany have been invited into the TAPE FIVE studio to work with producer/multi-instrumentalist Martin Strathausen to create all this positive “Fizzy Far Niente” energy.
