UK-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and self-professed “chronic over-thinker” Luke Sital-Singh shares "Firefight". Sital-Singh notes that the song "started from real conversations i felt i was having all the time with fellow artists who had no self-belief. People I thought were hugely talented but kept talking themselves down. Those conversations are described fairly accurately in the verses. The choruses emerged into me talking to myself about the ways i keep myself from achieving things and my worst characteristics, mainly my aversion to conflict which i describe as being able to fire fight. I remember the recording of this one being very hard to get right, especially the solo section. It had a lot of different guitar solos, I ended up using an ebow on a fretless baritone guitar which i think is one of the cooler sounds on the record."
