The sixth release of katharsis is the EP, “Collapse” by waller & xato, two electronic musicians based respectively in UK and Greece. In these strange times of quarantining and limited travelling options, the two artists demonstrate on the EP, how we can find unity and peacefulness in music in the midst of the chaos and collapse. This peacefulness is very vivid in all the tracks of the album, from the feeling of floating on a pink sky of emotional on tracks like “Doubtful Mercy” and “Crie”, to the felling of the autumn sunlight streaming through the colourful leaves of the forest trees on “Komorebi”, or even the cold feeling of the forthcoming winter on “Arctic Wolf” On the other hand, the unity is demonstrated through the high level of communicative collaboration needed to execute a work like this through the online exchange of ideas and project files, which has been a big theme in 2020. The two artists state the following about Collapse: “The EP came together slowly and unintentionally over the last year and a half - what started as Waller building from an early xato work-in-progress turned into a stream of ideas being sent back and forth and eventually narrowed down into a 3-track EP. The whole EP was made by raw emotions through the connection between distortion, psychotic euphoric and nostalgic progressions”
