Memphis native turned LA resident, Jack Fargo is a force to reckon with and hustling to do what it takes to share his music with the masses. The alt-hip hop singer captures a very real sentiment about not being able to afford things when you’re living paycheck to paycheck, aptly called “Broke.” The song kicks off with the line “They said I got a problem spending money I ain’t got yet” and Jack finds the humor in the situation by lyrically taking the listener through all the expenses that add up, including taking a girl out on a date. He expands by saying, “I know lots of people will relate to this lighthearted approach to the frugal lifestyle most of us have gone through at one point or another. Ideally, in the future, I can make a song about being filthy rich, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.” Jack teamed up with producer Jayden Seeley (Zach Hood, Ryan Oakes) for the track, taking a fresh perspective on production with consistent piano chords, a nod to old hip hop, with a twist of pop for the vocal melody, similar to the likes of Tai Verdes & WizTheMc.
