Boxes

Boxes

LA-based pop singer-songwriter, Rosie Darling, is known for her signature flowing melodies and gut-wrenching lyrics. “Boxes” sets the tone for her new chapter of songwriting - confronting trauma and choosing to completely heal from such profound hurt and channeling that into her music. She elaborates saying “These last few years have been challenging in so many ways, creating a lot of change and growth in my life. “Boxes” represents moving on from people and places that no longer support me or the person I want to be, toward a place of healing. Your 20’s are a time full of mistakes but also when you get to learn more about who you are and recognize your worth. To grow, I’ve had to lose a lot of relationships that I thought I’d always have. I’ve put my trust in people who have blindsided me and I’ve also held onto people a little too long when I shouldn’t have. I wrote “Boxes” in a place of accepting to let go and finding closure in the loss of these relationships and parts of myself. My hope is that this song can help others the way it offered solace for me.” The song starts off with a beautiful piano line that is the foundation of the empowering ballad, building to the inspirational bridge: “I’m still right here, where you left me / I’m still right here, come get me.” Rosie’s clear vocals evoke some of her favorite contemporaries including Chelsea Cutler, Julia Michaels, & Lizzy McAlpine. Produced with collaborator Justin Gammella (FINNEAS, Ashe) and mixed by Yianni AP (Alexander 23, Jeremy Zucker).
