Jimmy LaValle’s The Album Leaf has spun from solo outlet to full band and back in its nearly 25 years. Along with his acclaimed catalog, he has composed music for film and television, scoring over 20 projects, including award-winning films, Netflix shows, and commercials for companies like Nike and Google. Dustin is the winner of a 2015 Emmy Award for his main title theme to Amazon’s comedy drama Transparent (2014–2017), and was nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a Critics Choice Award for his score to Lion (2016), written in collaboration with Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka). His most recent album, Future Falling, was released in 2023. The Album Leaf has had a prolific and consistent last couple of years. With his acclaimed full-length album, Future Falling, as well as a series of successful remixes, a film score (which premiered at SXSW), and now this EP. First conceived as an improvisational jam, The Album Leaf later reworked these sequences, adding brass and saxophone, fine-tuning into a seamless six song listening experience.
