Allergy Boy

Allergy Boy

Allergy Boy (Jan Brauer’s Neuroman Re-Dub) Synthesizer, studio and sound engineer wizard Jan Brauer is part of the group Brandt Brauer Frick, whose very own The Gym Studios he also conceived and built. Besides the groups touring and producing, he mixed records for artists like Max Graef, Josa Peit, Wayne Snow, Uffie, Steve Reich’s ‚Six Pianos‘ as well as Paul Frick’s debut album ‚Second Yard Botanicals‘, which was the original material used for ‚Hofknicks‘. Brauer’s other activities include remixes, composition and performance of theatre music and regular collaborations with Berlin’s new music ensemble Lux:NM. He recently mixed the upcoming Lux:NM album, as well featuring one of his own pieces. Being plagued by a few allergies just like Frick, it was obvious Brauer had to pick ‚Allergy Boy‘ for remixing duties. His hardware-based full wonk sound sculpture is both ultra crisp and gritty, the ‘Neuroman Re-Dub’. Allergy Boy (H30H’s Basement Boogie feat. Clara Gusmão) A unique figure in Berlin’s club scene, the Portuguese Hugo Farinha aka H30H is among the most eclectic and versatile DJs the city has to offer. Having been active since his youth as DJ, music promoter, booker and sound technician all in one, first in his hometown Guarda, later in Lisbon, Barcelona and Berlin, his ongoing musical curiosity makes him an ear-opening influence for Frick amongst others. H30H is also founder of the label 30porumalinha, whose first release in 2009 featured music by Scott (aka Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer) and by Paul Frick, made before the three came to form Brandt Brauer Frick. On his playful version of ‚Allergy Boy‘, he melts raw basement house music with evolving acid basslines and jazzy touches and stumbles, while Clara Gusmão adds far away ‚Allergy Boy‘ chants.
