The Strike are an alternative rock band that have received international attention; including a sync placement in the Netflix hit-movie "To All The Boys I've Loved Before", and were handpicked by Quincy Jones for a 3 month live residency in Dubai. They've toured in China, Australia as well through the US with artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Journey, Kelly Clarkson, Cold War Kids and more. They've received glowing editorial support from publications like CLASH, Billboard and more as well as amazing support across streaming services with many playlist adds on Spotify and Apple Music. "Kids of the Last Days" is about the rivalry that often exists between generations. Each generation tends to carry with it a belief that they and their cohort have figured out the game of life. However, when they try to inculcate their values, a counter-culture usually ensues. I grew up in a very religious home and my parents would often discuss the end of times. This was around Y2K, and I was certain that Jesus would return before I grew into adulthood. I was supposed to be happy about this, and told that if I was prepared it would be a beautiful experience. Unbeknownst to my parents, this message had the opposite of its intended effect. It developed in me an understanding that time is precious. The lyric “Kids of the Last Days” speaks to the angst that young people feel as they wait to take the reigns from their predecessors. It is exciting but scary to face the unknown as a new generation blazes its path into the future.
